I recently had the incredible opportunity to photograph the wedding of Laura and Tom at the stunning River Mill in Derby. From the moment I arrived, I knew I was in a special place. Nestled just off the River Derwent, this venue was the perfect setting for an early summer wedding.

The Venue

Inside the River Mill, the ambiance was bright and welcoming. The interior, renovated just a few years ago, still retained its fresh, modern charm. The River Mill is part of a trio of exceptional wedding venues in the area, with the West Mill and Darley Abbey Mills located just a stone's throw away. Each venue adds its unique character to the picturesque surroundings.

Timeless Beauty

One of the most captivating aspects of the River Mill is the Victorian cobbled roads just outside the venue. With the sun shining down, these cobblestones provided a timeless backdrop for photos. Laura and Tom, familiar with the area from their time living nearby, guided me to some of the best spots across the river for their couple portraits. Their local knowledge allowed us to capture stunning images that truly reflected their connection to this beautiful place.

A Night to Remember

As the celebration continued into the early hours, I was able to capture some unforgettable moments on the dance floor. The competitive dance floor games added an extra layer of fun and excitement, making for some fantastic action shots.

Gratitude

Thank you, Laura and Tom, for giving me the honor of photographing your special day and for the chance to shoot at such an extraordinary venue. Your wedding was a beautiful celebration of love, and I am grateful to have been a part of it.

Congratulations, Laura and Tom!

The barn’s exposed brickwork, high ceilings, and large windows allowed natural light to flood the space, highlighting the couple and their guests beautifully. The surrounding grounds offered picturesque views and serene spots for those intimate couple shots.

At the heart of every wedding lies a multitude of unforgettable moments waiting to be captured. As a seasoned wedding photographer, I understand the importance of preserving these precious memories from every angle. That’s where the invaluable role of a second photographer comes into play.

One of the primary advantages of incorporating a second professional photographer into your wedding package is the ability to capture alternate angles of every moment. While I pride myself on delivering exceptional service and ensuring no moment is missed, the reality is, I can’t be in two places at once. Having a second shooter allows us to diversify compositions throughout the day, ensuring a comprehensive collection of images that truly reflect the essence of your special day.

Imagine this scenario: you and your partner are getting ready at two separate locations. Who will document the preparations at each site? By having a second photographer on board, I can focus entirely on creating stunning images at one location while my trusted second shooter captures every detail at the other. This seamless coordination ensures that no aspect of your wedding day goes undocumented.

With the second shooter add-on I offer, the process couldn’t be simpler. The second photographer will join us on the day, effortlessly blending into the background to capture candid moments as they unfold. After the event, I personally oversee the curation and editing process to ensure a cohesive final gallery that reflects your unique style and preferences.

Adding a second photographer to your package is an investment in peace of mind and the assurance that every aspect of your wedding day will be beautifully preserved. For just an additional £250, you can elevate your photography experience and create lasting memories that you’ll cherish for a lifetime.
